Mertiwether Hammenbens

When you meet Mertiwether Hammenbens his appearance is like to disconcert Halflings and other races both. A simple peasant’s cloth sticks out under as worn set of leather armor. Around his chest a bandoleer sprouts daggers, grappling hook, spade and a battered quill. His waist is cluttered with multiple pouches and sling and bolas hang there too. The cowl of his oily cloak is unable to conceal his unkempt hair, but his unwavering good spirit means that you are guaranteed to receive a smile.

Everil

Behind him on a short rope will be Everil, his trusted pony. Aged but a year and a half, this kindly beast has a temperament like his guardian, good natured and improbable to stay well behaved for long. Despite his spritely youth, he is burdened with the rest of the possessions Mertiwether collects at every turn. Two large baskets rest to either of Eviril’s sides on the edge of bursting and sleeping gear piled between them. Pots and utensils rattle with every step and the precarious pyramid of cloth threatens to topple at any moment.
